Anne Curtis and friends participated in "Earth Hour".

Last March 26, 2011 at 8:30 PM, for more or less 128 countries came together for Earth Hour 2011. This became a big event that even celebrities participates every year since 2007. Anne Curtis and her friends did not miss this event as this became their bonding time as well.

(Pictures below are taken from Raymond Gutierrez's Tumbler Account.)

Erwan moved in to his new place and invited some friends over to have dinner. I reminded him it was gonna be Earth Hour and asked “Wouldn’t it be dark?” and he replied “That’s the point.”

What welcomed us was a nice candle lit set-up.

I’m always impressed with the food Erwan prepares. I keep forcing him to drop his office job and open a restaurant. Either that or join Top Chef. The mini burgers or sliders were amazing.

Belle and Adrien were the early birds.

Erwan made sure to include that “swish” with the salad dressing because he knew it would annoy me. It worked.

Anne also helped with the dinner. Her job? Turning off the lights and lighting the candles. She shared new details about her upcoming album and I cant wait for the final product. She’s a big music fan and chose the tracks herself. Watch out for her collaboration with a bigtime singer!

George came when Earth Hour was almost done. Better late….

When Earth Hour was done it was time for dessert. He made these chocolate molten cakes and yes that’s a torch to make sure the inside was melted and moist before serving. When everything was finished, he also washed the dishes! Perfect host! Haha!

It was my first time to try the Kinect on the Xbox. It’s a controller-free system similar to the Wii and we tried this new dance game that scores you based on how well you copy the dancer on the screen.

 Adrian was up first.

You can tell how entertaining it was to watch him dance.

Anne has ASAP to thank for her dance background. She scored the highest and beat everyone at the game.

Good thing my camera died before they could take a photo of me. It was such a nice way to spend Earth Hour and catch up with everyone. Thanks Erwan and congrats on the new pad!

The Curtis-Smith Family

I can't help but to share this 2009 blog of Jasmine Curtis about "Who is her hero". It  give's us a little background about their family. It is very inspiring to know that despite their parents are separated, there's no bitterness in their hearts.

A hero for me is someone who is willing to help you in times of burden, someone who can risk their happiness for yours, someone who pulls you through even if it means hurting themselves and a hero for me is someone who can love me unconditionally. Nowadays heroes can be classified as real life heroes or “superheroes” like in the movies but a hero can be anyone, they don’t have to obtain superpowers or be overly rich they can simply be an average person who has touched your life or inspired you.

In my life I consider 4 different people my heroes but only one stands out the most. My first hero is my brother, Thomas James Curtis-Smith; throughout our lives we hadn’t always had the normal life. When we moved to Australia 4 years ago we both had to adjust. We both had to make new friends in a new school where we knew absolutely no one. It was tough and whenever I felt like everyone had turned their backs on me he was there to put a smile on my face, to pull me through the moments I thought to be unliveable.

My second hero is my father, James Ernest Curtis-Smith
. Despite the fact that he doesn’t live with my brother, mother and I he continues to show his support and love and although he has a new family now he never forgets to be there as a father even if it only means calling us up to make sure everything is ok.I didn’t always have my dad around when I lived with him, he was always busy with his business trips but when he was around we spent time together watching TV, lying around, and talking. Simple but meaningful is how we tend to roll. He talks to me as if I was an adult; he doesn’t treat me like a child (even if sometimes it’s what I yearn for). I have to be honest and confess that I don’t know my father much but from what I do know is that he is an intelligent and supportive father. He is my hero because he continues to love me unconditionally and support me in the paths that I choose to take.

My third hero is my sister, Anne Curtis-Smith. We haven’t always been close, we’ve never fought and we don’t live together but this definitely hasn’t prevented us from being close over the past 2 years. How ironic that it happened when I moved here, when I am furthest away from her. I guess missing someone makes you realise how much you love them. We’ve both experienced living a tough life and we’ve both accepted our pasts. She has helped me in so many different ways, words can’t exactly describe them. She is my hero because whenever I am around her she makes me forget all the times that we were apart, all the times that we both got hurt, and all the times that we weren’t able to share together. Most especially, all the times I wished I was with her.

My fourth and most important hero is my mother, Carmencita Ojales Curtis-Smith. Compared to my other heroes she stands out the most because she has sacrificed so much for me to live the life I live now. My mother is of a Filipina and Spanish background; she was born and raised in the Philippines by her Filipina mother and Spanish father. Her role model was her grandmother who taught her everything since she couldn’t afford to attend school. Due to the fact that my mother’s life was very poor when she was a child she persisted to find a better life to give to her family.

She found a job that paid little but enough to support her siblings. She worked instead of attending school so that she could pay for her sisters and brothers school fees. She went out of her way to find another job that would pay higher, this time it meant leaving her family. This was when she first came to Australia; she worked relentlessly and sent every single cent she earned to them and kept enough for her to live a budgeted life. Her siblings all finished University and are now working all over the world including Dubai, America, Canada, Australia and the Philippines.

My mother is my hero because when we came back here to Australia she did everything for me even though she was sick. My mother is ill but this aside she is my hero. She always finds a way to support me, to make me feel happy, to show her concern for me. I thank her and remind her of my love for her so little yet she continues to be there for me. She’s the one that at the end of the day I thank God to have in my life the most. I was never close with my mum til we moved back here, she used to hardly be around the house and so I grew up with strangers taking care of me. Now that we live together, she provides for all my needs.

Sometimes I do feel as if she is pushing me too hard to be at the top but then I realize this is only because she doesn’t want history to repeat itself. She sacrifices her own happiness just so that I can be happy; so that I can live a life better than what she lived. My mother is also my best friend, only recently did I found out how much I can talk to her about. Sometimes she even acts like a silly teenager; she makes me laugh so much. My mother is definitely the hero in my life.

We all need heroes in our lives because they can be the ones that provide the change that you’ve needed or that smile which can turn your world around. Despite the fact that we are a broken family we continue to support and love each other, which is why they are my heroes.(http://jasminecurtissmith.blogspot.com/)

Anne Curtis to reunite with Ms. Kris Aquino

Anne's career will definitely continue to blossom this 2011. Green Rose is just a month old but it was already announced by Kris Aquino that a tv series with Anne is on negotiation.  The two of them were together in a very successful soap opera entitled Hiram way back 2005, which was Anne's biggest role after her move from Kapuso toKapamilya station.

"Pinagalitan kasi ako ni Deo [Endrinal, business manager of Kris], ang daldal ko daw kasi. Dapat daw hindi ko sinabi na may teleserye with Anne. Pero nasabi ko na so nandiyan na iyan. Pero dapat, hindi pa...It's directed by Chito Roño, but that's all I am allowed to say. Beyond that daw is talagang kakalbuhin na niya ako. So shut up na ako." Kris said.

At the latter part of the interview, Kris revealed more details, "The roles are perfect for both of us. I'm not allowed to say lang talaga coz sabi ni Deo, matagal pa iyan. Baka agawin pa yung idea pero kasi may advocacy involved dun sa project that is very close to my heart." (PEP)

Anne, Vhong, Kuya Kim and Vice Ganda bonds after Showtime

Showtime is a very successful program because it represents the genuine "barkadahan" of the cast. Their exchange of jokes during the show between hosts are very genuine and natural. That's because they are really friends on and off cam. If they have time, they try to bond and have fun outside the studio. Just like last Saturday (March 12, 2011), Anne, Vhong, Kuya Kim and Vice Ganda bonded after Showtime.

Anne Curtis "The Singing Dyosa"!

Anne Curtis continued to be the loyal Viva artist after being with them for 13 years; she signed another contract last March 10, 2010. "I've been with them for so long, since I was 12 years old. So, talagang no plans of leaving—forever Viva na ako," Anne said.
During her contract signing in the Viva office at Philippine Stock Exchange in Pasig City, it was confirmed that she will record her album sometime in April. She finally got her wish to be a recording artist after she personally requested to have a debut album. "Ako ang nag-suggest—maging honest na tayo," she honestly said that made the press laugh.  "In all fairness 'yong sinabi ko, tinanong lang ako ni Ate VR [Veronique] 'Serious ka ba?' Sabi ko, 'Opo, serious ako. Thirteen years na 'ko sa inyo, it's time!' Pinaalam niya kay Boss Vic at 'yon din daw ang tanong, 'Serious ba siya?' After nun, pumayag na siya."
One of the special guests for her album would be her ex-beau Sam Milby. "Pero of course I have to write a formal letter coursed to his management to see if it will be allowed. Hopefully, payagan siya. Pero may isa akong pasabog na dapat ninyong abangan." When asked if Vice Ganda would have a participation in her album. "Alam ko si Vice kasi magkaka-album na sarili," sagot ni Anne. "So, unahan na lang kami!"
Anne jokingly said, "Magkaiba kasi kami ng genre. Ako walang genre, siya meron! Ako kasi iba-ibang kanta so walang genre. Si Vice alam ko talagang mauuna siya kasi malapit na siyang matapos mag-recording."
What has Erwan Heussaff got to say of getting her wish come true.  “Very supportive, ti-next niya ako, ako I will buy many copies and give them for Christmas gifts, so sure na may bibili,” natatawang kuwento pa ni Anne.

60 Million gross income in just 1 week for Who's That Girl!

Great victory for the cast and crew of Who’s That Girl, has reached the Gross Income of 60 Million in just 1 week. The natural charm of Anne Curtis, the goofy character of Luis Manzano and the comedy genius Eugene Domingo nailed the blockbuster success of the movie.

(60M in one week ang who's that girl, we must have done something right :) sana makanood yung hindi pa and pwedeng pwede pa umulit, please?:) –posted by @luckymanzano on his Twitter Account)

What’s to like about the movie:
  • Lead actors are none other than Anne Curtis and Luis Manzano.
  • Eugene Domingo's presence; the funniest actresses working in this country today.
  • If you like the brand of comedy by Director Wenn Deramas who is the head-writer as well for this movie then you will surely like it.

What’s not to like about the movie:
  • The story is very simple.
  • The pacing is inconsistent at times.
  • Some scenes are irrelevant but seems like they have been shot simply for the sake of some product endorsement.

If you are Anne Curtis's fan then do watch the movie as a support for her.

Why would I watch "Who's That Girl"?

If you are fond of Director Wenn Deramas brand of comedy (like Tanging Ina, Petrang Kabayo and Magkapatid) then I guarantee that you will also love movie. It's hilariously funny, first because of the presence of Superb Comedian Eugene Domingo and the undeniable chemistry Best Tandem of Anne Curtis and Luis Manzano. It's also fun to watch how Anne became a comedian herself.

Can't help but to share the funny interview of Anne and Luis with Ricky Lo.

Now on their third team-up in Who’s That Girl? (a joint venture between Viva Films and SM Development Corporation), Luis Manzano and Anne Curtis almost ended up as sweethearts until they realized that they were better off as soul mates.

“Naging sila!” Eugene Domingo kept on jokingly shouting as Luis Manzano (part-Espanyol/part-Pinoy) and Anne Curtis (part-Australyana/part-Pinay) were deep into a light-hearted Conversation about Who’s That Girl?, their third team-up after the trilogy All About Love (with John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo, and Angelica Panganiban and Jason Abalos) and Ang Cute ng Ina Mo (with Eugene and Ai-Ai delas Alas). “They are exes!”

But Luis and Anne just tried to ignore Eugene, one of their co-stars in the movie co-produced by Viva Films and SM Development Corporation, together with John Lapus, Candy Pangilinan, Dennis Padilla, DJ Durano and Ms. Dina Bennevie in a “special participation.” Directed by Wenn Deramas, the movie is about Bea (Anne), a wallflower who is head-over-heels in love with campus heartthrob John Eduque (Luis) who takes notice of her only one day when, at her lowest moment he takes time out to cheer her up.

“There’s one such scene in real life between Luis and me,” admitted Anne who, when egged on, finally admitted that when she broke up with Oyo Sotto (now married to Kristine Hermosa), she sought out Luis for comfort until her mind cleared up and, you guessed it, she went back to Oyo. That nipped in the bud what could have been love on the rebound and that cemented a deep and lasting friendship.

Now, for some “loveful” questions. Are you single?

Luis: Yes, I’m single. (Note: He added that he hasn’t had any serious involvement since he broke up with Angel Locsin.)

Anne: I’m taken. (Note: She’s going steady with Erwan Heussaff, Solenn’s brother.)

    (To Luis) So you’re available?

    Luis: Hmmmm, I guess!

(To Luis) Does your mom, Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos, meddle in your love life?

Luis: No, she doesn’t. Unless I tell her first, she doesn’t ask me anything about my personal life.

    How did you spend Valentine’s?

Anne: First, I did Showtime (the ABS-CBN noontime show) and after that I had dinner with Erwan.

Luis: Well, let’s just say that I had a happy Valentine’s Day. I was on E-Live kasi and I was asked to comment on some things. Hmmmm, it was one of the phases of my life which, well, I have decided not to reveal everything.

If Anne were available, would you court her?

Luis: I guess the proper question would be…If she were single, would she court me?

If Luis were single and he would court you, what do you think are his chances?

Anne: Busted right away. Chances? None. Zero-zero!

Luis: I was saying that the proper question should be, “IF she were single, would she court me?”

    Would you, Anne?

Anne: Never! If he courted me, he would be on his knees, crawling and begging me for my love.

Luis: Oops! She’s in denial. It comes in stages. First is denial, then comes anger and finally, surrender.

What do you like best about each other?

Anne: One thing I like about Manzano is that through thick and thin, I know that I always have him. He’s someone I can count on.

Oh, as a friend but not as something more serious than that?

Anne: Alam ko naman na may pagnanasa ‘yan sa akin, eh. (Addressing Luis) Aminin mo, Manzano, may pagnanasa ka sa akin, di ba?

Luis: Well, let’s just say that twice naliligo ako nahuli ko siyang nambubuso.

Did you expose more of yourself at that time for her benefit?
Anne (inset: with boyfriend Erwan Heussaff) was recently launched as endorser of Pandora Jewelry together with Liz Uy and Georgina Wilson. ‘It’s very popular in Australia,’ she said. ‘They are simple, not at all bling-blings.’

    Luis: No. Nailang ako!

Anne: He’s just trying to change the topic. Check out his celfone. I am his “wallpaper.”

Luis: Mabuti nga ako sa celfone lang, eh. Ang wallpaper mo sa bahay ako!

You are on your third movie together. Obviously, you enjoy working with each other.

Anne: Oh yes. Laging enjoy. Fun kasi, eh!

What are some of your memorable moments together as friends and as working partners?

Anne: As friends, one of my most memorable moments siguro with Manzano was when I was crying on the sidewalk in front of his house kasi I had just broken off with my boyfriend. (Yes, Oyo Sotto. — RFL)

    Which boyfriend?

Anne: Basta! Anyway, to cheer me up, do you know what he did? Tumakbo siyang palayo pagkatapos bigla niyang binagsak ‘yung pantalon niya. Nakita ko ‘yung puwet niya and I started laughing.

Is that always the way that you console her?

Luis: One of the many ways. It happened at 4 a.m. She came to my house crying.

(To Anne) So how was Luis’ butt?

Anne: He’s also showing it in this movie, so you see it for yourself. He did three butt exposures.

Luis: This is my “nudest” movie to date. I think ang next stage ko ay “pene” na. (“Pene” is short for “penetration” which was closely associated with the so-called Sex Trip [ST] flicks.)

Is that the part of your body that you are proud of showing?

Luis: That’s the part of my body that other people are happy watching, using at kung anu-ano pa.

What part of Luis’ body do you like most?

Anne: None! Wala, wala! Oh yes, ‘yung kuko niya. Show it, show it!
Luis with ex-girlfriend Angel Locsin. Luis claims that he hasn’t had any serious involvement since they broke up.

Luis (showing it): Cute, isn’t it? (Note: Luis’ fingers are long; the nail of his index finger is broken, as if bitten.)

You are an Aquarian and Luis is a Taurian. Are the two zodiac signs compatible with each other?

    Anne: Mukhang hindi!

Luis: Gawan natin ng paraan. Who cares about what the horoscope says? Eh, kung patay na patay naman sa akin, what can I do? Eh, di pagbibigyan ko!

How do you deal with a broken heart?

Luis: Time will heal. Besides, my friends are always there to help me heal. Believe me, I have very, very good support system in and out of showbiz — my high school barkada and my showbiz barkada. They are there for me in anything that I do. Muay Thai is a big help, too, believe it or not!

Do you confide in each other? I mean, trusting each other with your secrets?

    Anne: Yeah. Everything!

Luis: Oo naman. Siguro the moment we stop confiding in each other, that would be medyo weird na between us. Kahit nga nasa banyo ‘yan, nagsi-send ‘yan ng pictures sa akin.

What’s the best-kept secret that you have about Luis, ‘yung puwedeng pang-blackmail?

Anne: He’s secretly in love with me.

Luis: Why her nickname is Nippy. It’s an eight-year secret. Even my mom has been asking about it but I never tell her. Di ba, Nippy?

(To Anne) What’s the best thing about Luis Manzano?

Anne: He’s the most patient guy I’ve ever met.

(To Luis) And what’s the best thing about Anne Curtis?

Luis: She’s the most lovable girl you can ever meet.

    And the worst, if any?

Anne: The worst about Manzano? When he’s mad, he’s mad.

Luis: She takes advantage of me physically and emotionally.

Anne: Yuck!!! Ang kapal ng mukha!!!

What’s one word that best describes Luis?

Anne: Just one word? Puwede bang two words? Too gentleman.

Luis: Not necessarily describe her talaga. I would just say that she’s my soul mate.

Anne Curtis and John Lloyd Cruz, Dream project!!!

In an interview, John Lloyd Cruz said he would like to work with Anne Curtis in a future project.

"Sana, sana mabigyan kami ng pagkakataon, mabigyan kami ng chance. I'm sure si Anne kapag nakatagpo kami ng script ng material na babagay sa aming dalawa eh sana ay maisip kami ng Star Cinema," he said in an interview during a press conference for "Greenwich's Pizzas and Pasta Supreme Meat Plates." Cruz made his statement after the "Showtime" host shared her dream of doing a project with the Box Office King.

Anne will surely now have a chance to work with none other than the Box-Office King for 3 consecutive years, since she is now considered as one of the famous Actresses in their generation. Her many endorsements is the solid proof that she is really on the peak of her career.

    "Ang Katulong at Ang Amo"

Latest "pa-uso" of Showtime is their Sample serye entitled "Ang Katulong at ang Amo". This is very funny because everything are impromptu in comes with their scenarios and lines exchanged by Vice Ganda and Georgina Wilson and later on added in the cast is Anne Curtis. Showtime was supposed to be just an experiment of the Management; but thru the show, Anne Curtis finally is on top of her career. Being the most sought after Endorser nowadays and having left and right projects on tv and movie. Showtime also gave the biggest break of Vice Ganda’s career, making him the only Gay Comedienne to full Araneta Coliseum.

    26th Birthday Celebration of Anne.

When Anne invited to have dinner at her place, we didn’t expect the set-up to be that beautiful. She asked a production designer friend to help her out with the decor and it was quite impressive. No less than French chef Billy King was in charge of the kitchen and ofcourse with the help of party planner, Erwan. Juggling a movie, a morning show, a daily series, and shooting all her endorsements, we hardly get to see Anne nowadays which is why this night was even more special. At one point she got teary-eyed when her dad delivered an impromptu speech saying how proud he was of her. Because of all her hard work, it has now paid off with both her personal and professional life. She was literally my first friend in Manila and was the one who introduced me to everyone, and I’m so proud of the woman she’s become. Happy birthday Anne, you deserve everything.
